The Seahawks just got their first win of the season. They lost to St. Louis. They lost to Green Bay. But it sounds like they finally beat Kam Chancellor.
Because he is reportedly ending his holdout and returning to the team.
Interesting. Because if negotiations are won & lost by leverage, he’s never had more. The team’s 0-2. The defense isn’t the same. Another loss without Chancellor this week and there’s no way they’re making the playoffs. He’s got the franchise exposed going over the middle for a perfect shot at their rib cage. And yet Kam apparently just bailed out.
He texted Stephen A Smith “Ima go help my teammates that are understanding of my position and the ones who aren’t… God forgives all, why can’t I? Time to help us get back to the big dance. I can address business after the season. Me and Marshawn started a mission 2 years ago. I can’t let my Dawg down… Real talk.”
Real talk? Here’s some real numbers, – two game checks each over a quarter million dollars. Plus thousands in fines from training camp. That’s what you just forfeited.
Obviously, your absence had something to do with those two losses, and reportedly, some of his teammates were not happy about the holdout.
Antonio Brown is right: I asked him recently on the show if he considered holding out, and he said, no, holdouts never end well… and neither did this one: Kam got nothing out of this. No extra dough, it hurt his team and alienated some of his teammates.
What good comes of that? Absolutely nothing.
The team may have lost its first two games, but it dominated that battle. Stared him the hell down.
Look, great player, unbelievable leader and I’m glad he’s back on the field. I just hope for his sake, after missing all that time, we don’t see him on the back of a cart. Real Talk.
Just know that holdout accomplished absolutely nothing.
